Just as who you are

I hope to use psychology to help myself and others find their true self. Once upon a time, I traveled to a very small republic country called the "Uzupis". It is located in an old town of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. It declared itself an independent republic on April 1, 1998, April Fool's Day. When I travelled there in 2018, there were few people around, while art was displayed everywhere. This tiny town, with a population of around 7,000, has produced more than 1,000 artists. Their artworks demonstrated the unique characteristics of the country.

Everyone has one's own uniqueness and the most authentic face. We are shaped by our cultures and living experiences, which sometimes to hide and protect our true self. Citing the example of "Piggy Bank", from the moment the mother is pregnant with the fetus, she instills elements such as "love", "values" and "vitality" into her babies. However, as our personal growth develops, these valuable qualities will be sucked away by the outside world until the moment that it becomes less and less. The adverse impact is that it may cause psychological distress, such as fear, anxiety, etc. As long as we re-instill energy into the "Piggy Bank", we can see our true self again in a healthy  way.
