Meet your therapist

My journey to therapy
My name is Emily Hung, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT158013). I believe everyone deserves a supportive and understanding space to explore their thoughts and feelings. My path to becoming a therapist was driven by a deep desire to help individuals find clarity, resilience, and a greater sense of peace. I'm passionate about creating a safe environment where you can feel heard and understood without judgment.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I currently practise in California. I graduated at California Institute of Integral Studies from a Master program in Counseling Psychology in 2023. I practised my internship at the Chinatown North Beach Mental Health clinic in the City and County of San Francisco Department of Public Health in 2022-2023.

My approach to healing
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and person-centered. I draw from various psychodynamic approach, including developmental therapy, Internal Family System (IFS), and Cognitive-behavioral Therapy (CBT), etc, to help you develop coping strategies and foster personal growth. Together, we will work towards understanding your challenges and building a more fulfilling life. The therapeutic interventions applied include various expressive arts modalities, such as drawing, art-and-crafts, sandplay, narratives, music and dance.

Who I help and how
I work with individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and life transitions. I also provide anger management training to children and adolescents. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply seeking to better understand yourself, I'm here to provide guidance and support.
